About Lin DeVecchio

Lin DeVecchio began his career with the FBI in 1965 as a Special Agent investigating Organized Crime matters. Being of Italian decent, he understood the blight that organizations known as the Mob, La Cosa Nostra or Italian organized crime brought to those who respect their Italian heritage.

Early in his career he recognized and became proficient in developing informants that provided information about the inner workings of La Cosa Nostra. Along the way, he performed admirably in undercover situations including obtaining evidence that led to the conviction of Edwin Wilson, a former CIA agent, involved in gun running and attempts to murder witnesses who would testify against him. Lin’s efforts saved several lives including the attempt to murder an Assistant United States Attorney.

His work gained him a reputation as an expert in the field of organized crime and he was promoted to the position of Supervisory Special Agent in Charge of the Bonnano Crime family squad. His stature among his peers and his knowledge of the subject led him to supervise the investigation of the landmark case of the “Commission of La Cosa Nostra” which resulted in the incarceration of the leadership of the five families that held great power over the citizens of New York City.

Lin became the Coordinator of the Northeast - Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force . He has lectured on Organized crime matters at the FBI Academy, New York City Police Department, John Jay College of Criminal Justice , U.S. Marshals Service and The Westchester County Police Training Academy. He is a member of the Honor Legion of the New York Police Department.

Mr. DeVecchio is a graduate of George Washington University and obtained a Masters Degree from Long Island University
